This small three-bedroom house for a single professor is based on a traditional Cumberland house, characterized by a front porch and three gabled dormers.  For the new house we flattened and stretched the dormers, which along with strategically placed skylights in the rear bring light into the kitchen, entry and to an enlarged shelf-lined hallway, creating a mini library.
